LEITSC Priority
Exchanges for RMS

In 2005, the LEITSC RMS Functional Standards Committee identified several different internal and external data exchanges that a RMS should be able to perform. Some of these exchanges have been developed by LEITSC and can be found here...

Resolutions

NSA Resolution

Requested to the FBI that the N-DEx project reference and apply the LEITSC RMS Functional Standards in the development of the  RMS capacity within N-DEx.

NOBLE Resolution

Supports the work that LEITSC has done on developing the Standard Functional Specifications for Law Enforcement CAD and RMS.

IACP Resolution

Supports the Law Enforcement Information Management Section and LEITSC.

CAD/RMS Assessment Tool

The CAD/RMS Assessment Tool is designed to provide significant assistance to agencies formulating a RFP for RMS or CAD systems and is intended to be used with the Standard Functional Specifications documents.

Clicking on the button to the right will take you away from the LEITSC website and to the CAD/RMS Assessment Tool.

It is our recommendation that agencies have a copy of the documents to refer to as they utilize the tool.

What does the Assessment Tool do?
This tool formulates the functional specifications found within the documents into questions. Agencies can select which specifications are required and which are optional, thereby creating a ready-made matrix that can be attached to a request for information (RFI) or a RFP.

Affording prospective vendors with a detailed RFP enables them to provide more accurate responses and helps prevent scope creep, delays and unexpected costs.

How does it work?
A report is created from the selections that an agency makes and can be saved until the agency has completed their review. The results are easily exported into Excel. Since the functional specifications were developed to be generic in nature and system neutral, exporting the report allows agencies to tailor the questions to reflect identified needs (e.g. an agency made need to add an output to a state database).

This tool also enables agencies to add additional requirements and specifications not included in the Standard Functional Specifications documents.
